Congress sends NSA bill to president

 

   Congress sends bill to president curbing the NSA phone surveillance program. Since Edward Snowden a government contractor made the top secret program public there have been growing concerns. Finally the American people have been heard.  Congress has sent the bill to the president requesting the phone company's hold the information and this can only be turned over with a warrant. This is a step in the right direction for our very worried nation. Since the information was released two years ago the trust between other nations and ours have been lost as well as our trust for our own government.

     America a nation built on freedom has been in a 30 year cycle of loosing more and more freedom, so anything that can help our citizens at this point is a huge plus. The vote today was 67 - 32. The house has already passed the bill and the president Barack Obama plans to sign the bill quickly. For any American this is a good sign that our government is finally realizing they have been overstepping lines for far too long.

Most people ever running for US president?

       

This presidential race could be the largest in history with candidates coming from all angels. Hillary Clinton, Martin O'Malley and Bernie Sanders have already declared for the Democratic party. Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Carley Fiorina, Lindsy Grahm, Mike Huckabee, George Pataki, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Rick Santorum all have declaired for the Republican party. These list do not include over 30 other potential candidates whom are already gathering information and planning their runs, the most notable would be Chicago own Willie Wilson. Willie Wilson had just run for mayor of Chicago in the last election cycle and is now planning to run against a slew of other candidates to become the president of the United States.

         As this race continues on we will see what comes of it. With stakes high  currently Hillary Clinton and Rand Paul are the top to candidates in the race. We will see where this goes and follow the race through the race.  Some would wonder why the Republican party would not unify in a time of need. Having so many candidates up and running could hurt more than help the party in it's entirety.


     

City council candidate call out Mayoral candidate Joliet races heat up

James Foster a candidate in the 4th Ward City Council seat race in Joliet calls out Mayor candidate Andy Mihelich. Andy a candidate whom has yet to show any real solution or the ravaged east side of Joliet has yet to respond foster wrote the following letter to Mihelich.

Mr. Mihelich: The eastside of Joliet seems to be the forgotten zone of Joliet. While the council bickers our communities suffer from extensive lack in all areas from education to economic growth. When the arguing with the council stops the issues that continue to plague our communities still exist and still need to be addressed! Please get to the meat and potatoes. We dont need the ABC's anymore. What is YOUR plan to turn the eastside around? Do you have one?     This leaves us to believe Foster feels Andy mihelich is lacking care for his district. A bold move for the first time candidate and contractor. James foster entered the race for the first time stating " Our community needs a real change, and I feel I can be the backbone for our community". 

        Fosters own race well under way with four candidates involved. We will see come April if the newly recognized community advocate has what it take to beat current Incumbent,  Bettye Gavin, whom was appointed by Mayor Thomas Girrante last year.

18th Ward aldermanic candidate Chuks Onyezia makes an Impact

   

An 18th Ward candidate Chuks Onyezia has been producing a local paper for months now , circulating the first ever 18th ward news sources. As a candidate and local motivational figure, Chuks is looking to make an impact he says. As the weekend started up, candidate Chuks and his team were on a mission. Delivering papers to every home in the ward. Come snow or Sun Chuks and his team completed their mission.

     With the current approval ratings for the 18th Ward alderwoman down to almost 22% Chuks may be making the punch that counts for the win. If the Onyezia campaign continues, the 18th Ward may very well have a new alderman on the way come February 24th. Early voting starts on the 9th, meaning next Monday, and the political season is well underway. Chuk's being the only candidate working the field. As vote day rolls in were expecting him to take the seat by a 2 point lead.

     

More theft involving elected officials??

Saturday January 31^st 2015,  many of our residents awoke to find their yard signs supporting Anne Schaible for alderman had been stolen from their yards. As a campaign, we are saddened by these attacks. The Matt O’Shea campaign and/or his supporters have violated their own clean campaign pledge, as well as, the freedom of speech rights of hundreds of our residents.  We call on Mr. O’Shea to denounce the actions of his supporters and /or campaign workers.  As for those in the 19^th Ward who were victimized, we are replacing the signs as quickly as possible, so please call the campaign office at (773) 780-1899 if you don’t receive your replacement sign within a few days.

Chicago politics out of control

 The current Chicago political situation is horrible.  As a community the fear instilled in voters, and residence is closer to terrorism than most other situations.  Politicians intimidating locals and nearly forcing voters to follow in their path. How can these people do such things to their residence.  From the 19th Ward to the mayoral race and more. Over the years we have seen things continually go from great to horrible. The powers at be, behind a lot of the struggle. Why now more so than ever? Because there is a lot at stake. The current mayor is looking at a run off , as well as quite a few other Alderman as well!!

                As I drove through Chicago today one ward really stood out. Emma Mitt's ward was in shambles.  I truly was disgusted with her signs all over. Even one with trash all over the place. It disturbed me a lot. I know it takes a community to care for a community but really true leadership starts somewhere.  How can you expect to lead a community and you cant even care for it? This really get's under my skin.  I feel as a leader you lead by example, like community clean up day's? Or grafatti removal week? Or how about focusing more time on youth and less on red light cameras? Did you know that if you took all the money spent on red light cameras and broke it down to youth in Chicago there wouldn't be a single hungry child in Chicago? Does this not bother you? If not you may just be heartless. We need real leadership, not thieves whom are out to spend our hard earned money.  Why is it that these alderman pocket so much, and become so imbedded in our community?

          

   The leaders really need to step their game up for their whole term, not just for RE - Election? Why does this style of games work? Why do we allow people to conduct business as usual? We need to for once take a stand. We as a state ousted a governor, now let's oust some of the current thugs in office.
